Hey Mmaaxx, have never heard of full syn oil glazing bores before, but will certainly stand corrected if that is the case. Generally bores are glazed by running the engine with no load over long periods. WE have serious problems with bore glazing in our generators. people insist on running a light and a laptop off a 16 KVA and wonder why it starts spewing oil in a few days.. anyway, I too was told that Fully Syn Oil was being used in my Lux at Toyota. that was why it cost $78 /6 liters. When I asked for a clean semple to send off for a comparison test. they told me it was actually a blended oil from castrol, but would not confirm the grade or type(syn or mineral). just a special blend made espeicaly for them.. was also told that every Toyota service department used the same oil. I then asked why the bottled Toyota oil was $29 for 5 litres over the counter. Was told I can use that oil if I wanted, but the service manager did not recommend it. Said it was not suitable.... what a load of BS.. needless to say, I didnt get my clean sample.
Shrek, before you take the car out of the service yard, go through the service book completely, get under the car and check that every item on the list was done. Mark your filters with a covert marking and check them to see if they were changed. I have had serious issues with this happening in the past, as far as brakes were not bleed filters charged for but not replaced. ( I have a K&N, but still got charged for a new filter that didnt get fitted) and so on.. I have found that no matter where you take your truck, no one will care for it as much as you. check their work is done to your satisfaction.. after all , your paying for it.. Cheers TOMUCH
