david, it was air plant supplies here in canberra they are a tool shop that specializes in air tools and copressors and stuff, if you are going to get one made up do what i did and get them to put the valve connection on that stops the air commong out when not in use, that way the compressor stops as soon as you unplug it from the tyre

the lift block sounds interesting, did you put 2 or 1 original leaf together to make the block. How much lift did they give you. Can you pls post some pics of this up, sounds like a good idea

shane308

Comment:

03/04/08

yeah but haven't got around to it yet

david allan

Comment:

02/04/08

did you think of getting some air bags ( eg polyair etc)

shane308

Comment:

02/04/08

because this way i get the lift without a stiffer ride, i do tow a trailer all week but it is pretty well weighted so dosn't have to much ball wieght so stiffer heavier springs not needed.

david allan

Comment:

02/04/08

now that makes sense, if you wanted more lift why didn't you get the heavy duty OME leafs

shane308

Comment:

31/03/08

david allan, sorry i may have confused you, i made the lift blocks out of the originals buy cutting the two thickest leafs of each leaf right in the middle about 140mm long so it has the centre bolt hole in the middle and then used these with the ome springs, i then got a suspension place to make me some longer u bolts and sell me two longer centre bolts, what was left of the original toyota leafs went in the bin

david allan

Comment:

31/03/08

are you going to put the modified original ones in or was it just for fun. what do you think of the OME med leafs, why didnt you get the heavy duty ones

shane308

Comment:

31/03/08

david allan, i got the medium ome leafs and shocks, they are still there, i have made the back about an inch higher though by cutting up the original toyota leafs and making lift blocks out of them like the ones that snake sell.

david allan

Danny, i'm very happy with the iron man springs they've only sagged 5mm since installation which is a lot less than a lot of other brands i've read about, they are a bit stiffer than th factory springs but they were far to soft any way in my opinion, as for the scratches i have no idea, i have a dash mat on mine, maybe you can hide them with one of those. shane.

Hi Shane: Please, what do you think of the Ironman suspension lift for the new LUX? Someyone in George, RSA where I live owe me money and he is the Ironman dealer. It looks like the only way I am to get it out of him is if I take a suspension lift for my LUX, but I don't want to install is to my LUX if it is crappy!

Hey Shane - nice rig - couple of pics of my roof rack on my profile 4 U. I went the tradey's size - a bit bigger for only an extra $7. Sticks out less over the back and sides than I thought it would.
