well the poor mans SR has no trip computer :-)

I just did 533 klm on 66 lt, so thats about 12lt + per 100 ? We do more Hwy than city, I live out in the country.

I cant get over some of the fuel figures I hear some get. I cant seem to get close.

Maybe I should get it checked ?

I have an airtec snorkel, wonder if this is a cause ?

Brett,

Is that the auto or manual? How many K's you done so far? Mine until recently has been consuming a fair bit (13L per 100) but now since she's up over 20,000 the fuel economy has been better (being run in) I get at least 1300k's from my 145L tank

guys
I've found after the engine has broken in a little with 4k on the clock the fuel economy has come down to about 12.9L per 100km in the city and about 10.5-11 on the highway.
I have BFG A/T, i'd say i loose about .5L per 100km from the standard road tyres.
I've got the V6 with the auto,
All in all really happy with the figures coming from a GenII V8, the lux is a dream on fuel.

Hey Dave,

have you got a longranger tank? and would you go a larger tank again?

Cheers,

I do have a long range tank (not a long ranger though) mine was supplied by K&N 4WD in Perth, it holds 145L and yes, I would definitely recommend getting one if you are looking at some serious touring distance.

40,000 km's on the clock, i'm getting 9lt per 100km on the highway and 10lt per 100km around town. When the fuel light comes on i can do another 170km with the longrange tank. When i drive at 1000ft above sea level my economy drops off a little 10lt per 100km on highway and 11lt per 100km around town.
I think better economy can be had with standard bumperbar and no lift.

Dave :)

I think your right Dave, all the add-ons upset the aero.

I also wonder if a bull bar upsets the air flow to the intercooler hence affecting performance ??

I am averaging 10.2L per 100KMs on my auto turbo diesel sitting on no more than 100km/h going up the freeway and back every day to work with my roof top tent on... might have to get a wind deflector but with the fuel economy I am getting at the moment, what's the point.... I guess with large headwinds I'll be paying for it!

My 2.5 litre D4D diesel (2KD-FTV) gives me about 9.25 to 9.64 litres per 100kms in the country side.

Cheers

Yes you can change between, I think you hold down a selection button and it will change from memory, it took a bit for me to work that one out 8-)
