Toyota Pricing

Postby jogal on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 7:24 +0000

Yesterday i took the new lux into Toyota for the first 1000km service , sitting on the showroom floor was a new SR5 Dual Cab V6 with a price tag reading SPECIAL $58990. I'm thinking what the hell is a diesel worth?. The salesman who sold me my new lux came along, so i ask him! $61990 was the answer he also went on to tell me that the price of the new Kakadu which is the Grande equivilent of the new Prado. $91000 , is it just me or is whoever is in charge of the pricing of these new vehicles on drugs. If pricing keeps up like this i'm pretty sure Toyota will loose it's market leading postition. I as one after owning 8 Hilux's and a landcruiser will be looking elsewhere.

I agree what your saying! i just did the same. I had a 05 SR5 xtra cab which was due for sale next year but due to the 50% incentive i did the change over this year and was lucky enough to secure a new lux on road for $54000. But once this incentive is over do you really think people are willing to pay 62k for a new lux which has less features than the others?

I am down to the fine print details of my change over into the Green Machine II.

They have settled on 32g's trade in value. For this I get a 2010 sr5 TD auto with full leather, bullbar and winch swap, new snorkel, new tow bar, avenger canopy, outback drawers, front and rear air lockers with compressor and keep my taipan exhaust, elec rust, duel batt, pillar pod and gps.

All up the bill in 35,000 for the new one. Not bad :)

but you are right the prices are nuts compared to Nissan and Mitsubishi. But I still wouldn't buy one of theirs.

When i order my new lux i got quotes from nearly every dealer in VIC. I just sent them my requirements by email and waited for the quotes to come in. If you do it this way make sure you dont leave your phone number as they ring you all day long.

Cheapest quote to come back was 50,690 drive away. And the highest quote was 56,580.

My requirement were:
2010 build
Diesel
Auto
Charcoal Grey
Country REG
And i was elegible to fleet discount (im not sure how much this was)

I can let you know who the dealer was if anyone wants to know.

Guys,

I am thinking about selling my truck and just want to get a few ideas what it might be worth to sell privately.

Its a Dual Cab SR5 Diesel Auto with 60,800 Kms on the clock. Full Log book servicings, as well as oil changes every 5,000 kms, and extra servicings when it was being run in (at 1,000 and 5,000 Kms) done by Toyota dealers.

It has heaps of extras (check my profile) including bullbar, winch, canopy, Suspension, Dual Batteries, UHF radio etc etc.

Never been driven on the beach or near salt water. Its been really looked after as I intended to keep this a long time...

Any ideas what she would be worth?

Rich.

At a guess Rich, I would be asking at least 50k for it.

I've been considering doing the same thing of late, not too sure.

Good luck with the sale Rich!

Cheers, Dave
