Guys,

came across these online....personally I reckon toyota when it comes to body styling is going backwards and will be loosing customers.......

looks like a slightly smaller version of the 200 series cruiser with a bit of kluger in the face.....looks like the 200 series raped a kluger and this is the offspring :o

Damn, I have seen a few other spy pics which were nicer but they were mock ups. This thing is ugly!

What are they thinking with these body kits?

Heres a couple more......

The one below is the only one where it looks alright -
Image
Looks like the guards are bigger and I read somewhere the engine lineup will be the same to start with but the vehicle is heavier than the predecessor.....i reckon it would have to be close to 100 series size now.

More pics-

Spare tyre underneath? Maybe offering a smaller fuel capacity version?

Looks like a V6 to me.....

Interior is very 200 series style-

Fold flat rear seats-

Dont know about you guys but it looks abit warped to me...that front and rear bumpers are HUUUGE! imagine trying to get a decent looking bullbar on that?

V6 turbo diesel? The count down begins :P

Who else would trade theirs in if a V6 TD was up for grabs?

Mind you I was talking to Toyota salesman the other day and said people should brace themselves for a price hike on the new Prado. If it has a TDV6 the competitors should be very worried.

competitors wont be worried if theres a 10K jump in price.....what good is new and powerful technology when your target buyers cant afford it?

The spare tyre under has been available overseas on the current and previous models. We get the 2nd tank version with spare on rear door.

V6 is probably petrol version - I doubt we will get a v6 diesel even if it sells overseas. The same old problem - no need to change spec if you are the top seller already. :( :(

Any pics of the three door model thats coming??
I have nothing good to say down here so I wont say anything at all

I dont mind the look of it......i like the kinda flared guards on it.....bit of lift, some decent wheels and tyres and she'd look sweet!

Shorty version in Oz sounds great too!

My mates current Prado is awesome in the bush, the panels are piss weak though and have been mended a few times, the plastic ones anyway... but with the right protection gear this can be made minimal,

These new ones are a step back look wise but we'll see how they spec up...

I was talking to my uncle (he's a manager at a Toyota dealer) a lot of car companies are making all their models look very similar.
Toyota - Rav4, Kluger, Prado, 200....all look very similar - Yaris, corolla and camry....all pretty similar
Nissan - Navara, Pathfinder and Patrol
Mazda - Mazda 2, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6

Etc etc

But not a fan of the new Prado
