I saw a couple the other day close up. didnt see no 17 inch wheels. the bumpers and grill were different, the wheels were only slightly different, radio controls on the steering wheel, no extra gear in the box,and no performance gains.

was told the V6 has been revised to meet euro IV emmissions or something like that and the v6 has a larger towing capacity whilst all other hiluxs have a larger cargo capacity, as in they can hold more in the rear.

hope the 17's are an option thou. wouldnt mind a set.

They sure have some weird ideas when it comes to selling cars. If we were getting suicide doors, someone would have leaked it by now. We will probably get the old stock until end financial year and then the upgrades. Im getting tired of waiting.

Yeah I'm sick of waiting too. I hope they don't sell they old stock off like you say then bring out the suicide doors like 2 months after I buy one.. That would not be nice :(

I guess we will find out in the next few days... So if anyone hears about the new 2009 facelift luxy coming out with suicide doors can you please post it.

Thanks Greg

just talked to my local toyota dealer & he advised the hilux is only getting a facelift, no spec changes.
He said we should expect an upgrade in 09

I test drove a new Facelift model today. And have order the SR5 Extra Cab... There will definalty be no major changes for a few years from what I have been told.

New Grill
Cruise control
Alloys still 15inch revised style
Steering wheel controls
Petrol engine complinance with UK emissions
Gear Stick raise 30mm (For what reason i'm not sure... They should have shortened the bloody thing)
Front & rear suspension upgrade
Ticket holder on sunvisor (Yay!!)
Cover on miror on sunvisor (Double Yay!!)

So there it is. Doesn't look that bad up close. But the first thing to go will be that ungle grill!!

I don't know why they can't put the 5 speed auto transmission in the diesel.

They have it in the diesel prado with the same engine, so it obviously is available.

Not that it affects me, I'll still be stuck with an too highly-geared 4 speed, unless I win lotto or some other miracle (like someone buys me one!) happens.....

Does anyone know if the new audio control steering wheel is cross compatible to the existing models?

I saw one yesterday in the yard and no chance. They are built into the side sections of the airbag cover. Except for the new grill which hasn't changed shape in any way so easily removable, there is no exterior changes. Very disappointing Toyota

Was it a D4D Auto and did it have D4 on the changer or D3?

D4 means it has a new 5 speed transmission.

Rich.

the alloy accents inside on the dash center and door arm rests are now also smooth, not textured. I certainly would not be updating mine untill they make some major changes. I see Isuzu have released thier D-Max ute, maybe they might have some new inovations like climate control and 5 speed auto and rear disc brakes. Maybe not.

Gregorous.

I spoke to my hilux dealer this morning and there has been no price rise in the SR model but apparently there has been a $685 price increase in the SR5 model. Not much info but hope it helps.
