MY08 Upgrade

Postby Parr on Wed, 25 Jun 2008 3:25 +0000

so in a nut shell, just a face lift

- sr5 had audio and multi-information display controles on steering wheel
- sr5 gets a chrome/grey radiator grille
- sr5 design of weels change (still 15")
- all modles clear lenses for front turn signal lamps
- Front bumper design change
- 4.0L V6 petrol engine (1GR-FE) becomes Euro IV emissions compliant
- manual sr5 get cruise

and that is about it, talk about pissing in the wind

A one piece bumper is not the end of the world as far as a bullbar is concerned. The current Tritons and Rodeos are one piece bumpers. It just means that the friendly people at ARB, Or TJM if you prefer, have to take to your bumber bar with an angle grinder.

your right oldrev
one of the main reasons i bought an arb bar is that i dont have to cut the original bumber to bits
the tjm ones do
that and the arb looks dead sexy

I see they are putting "Duoble row roller type axle bearings" in the rear to overcome the issue that some have had with rear axle bearings. Can only be a good thing I think.

Sh*t! Just read this!

After putting a few grand worth of extras on and being happy with my 08 Hilux, I see this!

At the end of the day, it's not that big of a deal though.

marlinman

the file only said that it would be standard on all sr5's so i would say the the sr manual wont get it as standard. but the face that the sr5 has it means that it should brcome option.

yes you are right that is the UK model. It gets a 5 speed auto and a more powerful diesel than the Aussie model plus a heap of other upgrades that are not coming to Oz.

yeah, that diesel they are talking about is the same as our one except the Euro 4 compliant version puts out 360nm stock from toyota and the 5 speed auto....dont understand why we get left behind. :(

They should have included this upgraded diesel and the electronic rear diff lock that is standard on the South African version of the hilux.

Picked up my brand new hilux extracab on Friday.

Went to drive down the coast to drop it off at Wizard this morning and noticed that I didn't get cruise control standard!!!! Not Happy.

Called toyota and complained and said that they need to do something about it!

Very disappointed so far! Scratches on the car, greasy finger prints on roof liner and now this... Ohh what a feeling! NOT

Toyota are AS*HOLES

gregorous,

Sorry to hear of your experience which is becoming too common all over the world. Toyota is getting very arrogant worldwide to the point that they forget who makes them king. It is us buyers who spend our hard earned money to buy their vehicles.

Hope you sort out your problem. Go give them hell as far as the scratches, grease on the roof liner. It's a bloody brand new car after all.

Good luck.
Cheers
