I'd love one minus the face as well, just not a fan of that corporate face for Toyota

While the suspension is similar they are a much weaker truck. Like the FJ's they are made for nice US roads and to look like they can go off road, but not built like a lux.

Tacoma "may" cosmetically look better but thats about it. Their wheelbase is longer hence worse ramp over angle, their chassis rails are a C-Channel from A pillar back so if you think your current hilux flex's alot offroad imgaine how much more a tacoma does?

Tundra will never come here because of the 70 series range. If we didnt have the 70 series then the Tundra would be almost guaranteed.

Hey Max,

What do you do for a living? Are you in the car industry? Not having a go at you or anything, just curious because there doesn't seem to be much you don't know haha.

Like I said, not questioning your knowledge or anything, you've helped me a lot, just wondering if you're an enthusiast or a professional. I realise it's easy for that to be taken the wrong way. :D

hey guys

The tacomas look meaner than the lux and are a tad bigger than the hilux.
as for the chassis...i didnt know that the chassis on the tacomas were like that....
why would they skimp on the chassis??
there wheel base is long but i love that look,i love the fact that you have the 5ft or 6ft tray option.
You guys might hate this  but...my hilux is booked in for a chassis lengthin to put an extra cab well body on the dual cab to look like the tacoma.. and to also give me that 300mm more room in the tray..as im a carpenter.
my excuse to the wife is that i wanted to fit my 1800mm level in the back..

I say give us the option of a v8 hilux. Personally I'm very happy with the 2012 facelift looks. I did like those is trucks too but yeah they are big and it would be so many years before the support and parts chain catches up to the mighty hilux. I'm impatiently waiting for my 2012 hilux to be built. Email the dealer today, is it going to chase it up a bit more for me.

I wiss they would bring the 4 runners back over here while there at it, as for making a Lux with decent power they tried that with the TRD and it didn't really take off

70 series being killed off?
The dual cab 70 series is going into production in Japan this month.
As for the new Hilux even dealers are being asked by Toyota Aus for their input into the accessory range.

OK... Whats the latest... Wheres the spy shots? WHat donks are we getting?

I wish the new chassis would accomodate that sweet v8 TD... Id also like some more refined creature comforts. :P

I vote the 200 series engine options in a Hilux... as an option. Nice Auto...

SIgn me up... Mine will be due for a refresh in 2014.
