Why do you need the EGT probe? is it because your is petrol??

just a tip, dont use double hex sockets to undo the factory dump pipe off the back of the turbo......they are hard to get too and you dont want to risj rounding off the nut....its in a terrible spot to have to replace if it happened.....

once loosened, a ratchet spanner will be your friend....I found out you'll be putting the hoist up and down heaps as you undo and the bolts and then tighten.

Just remember when you tighten up the dump pipe onto the turbo, to tighten the 3 bolts equally as much as possible.......

but Im sure you already know about all that ;)

just in case someone else reading is interested.

its a nice exhaust!

Cheers Max,
Looking forward to fitting it and hearing the new sound 8-)
I intend fitting a pyrometer gauge to keep an eye on the exhaust gas temp.
This way once I have the exhaust and steinbauer module fitted I can have it dynoed and tweak the module to achieve the best output whilst keeping within a safe exhaust gas temp range. Would be nothing worse than killing due to excessive temp
For those that are interested I got a good price on the exhaust, so if anyone needs help when looking to buy the same system give me a pm and I might be able to help.
Also just as a point of interest it is a 3 inch system, however the dump pipe is 2 1/2 inch going out to 3 inch.

Thanks for the feedback on the wheel choice.....16's it is :D

Yeah the dump pipe is a 3", just at the point is meets the turbo it has been "pushed in" to match the diamter of the turbo's outlet.

another thing mate, when I installed mine, I had to remove the heatshield underneath the body of the hilux at it was in the way and the stud that held the head shield in I had to bend out of the way aswell.....

it is a big exhaust, you dont realise until you fit it in place of the stock one....but well worth it IMO.

Well, just removed the genuine exhaust and started fitting up the humex system.
First up was fitting the dump pipe so I can find the right spot to fit the pyrometer.
Looking at it there seems to be plenty of places to fit it with clearance. 8-)
Here's a pic of just the dump pipe fitted.

Exhaust update.
Well I found the best spot to fit the pyrometer probe, without it being in the way or being able to be damaged. Here it is:

So now Humex will be supplying all hilux d4d systems with this fitting attached and comes with a blanking plug for those not interested in fitting a pyrometer.
So there's my small contribution to the humex exhaust development....... ;)

Time to get the steinbauer fitted up 8-)

Since your not dealing with my spray on mud today... have you chosen a Pyro metre yet?

Shane,

do you really need it? I know you want to fit it, but like myself, why would I want to keep an eye on exhuast tempriture unless im running a custom ECU or the like?

Comes with everything needed, even a mounting bracket. Was thinking of mounting in on the dash up against the pillar, I dont want to go cutting holes out anywere.Should look ok there I think.

If your keen so am I

so once you guys have got that setting right, Shane can tune to the same setting as his is for me when he fits my chip without me needing one, because he's found the ideal setting on his rig - correct or not?

It would be close mmaaxx, but mine is a manual so tune will be a little different. A dyno run will get you pretty well spot on. A pyrometer is for real time driving conditions just to keep an eye on egt, it's a personal choice whether to fit one or not.

Nice pyrometer guys.

Price seems reasonable also too.

When my pyrometer goes kaput, I will definitely change to a Celsius reading instead of Fahrenheit.
