Bob's 2009 Hilux SR5 Build

Postby Bobjones on Thu, 18 Jun 2009 8:32 +0000

Hi All, name is Neill, Bob is a long story around the campfire.

Anyway, finally got delivery of my truck yesterday, was due last Friday...but anyway long time reader first time poster so be nice!!

I previously has a 2002 Nissan Patrol in white with EFS lift bar etc etc, but a change in circumstances resulted in the sale of that, the sale of my 9 month old Honda Accord Euro the new shape, to make room for my toy (1989 Mazda Rx7), and store my brother 1982 VH SLE along with the missus VE work hack (yes I have four garages, blessing at times PITA some times), anway enough about me...the new truck

2009 Hilux Sr5 Dual Cab Tubo Diesel manual in Charcoal Grey, which has the bluetooth stereo so I have handsfree for work and controls on the steering wheel along with cruise, about time they put this in the Lux, my boss has one of the first luxes with all the ARB gear and TV's etc etc, so it was inevitable that with two dogs and looking at a dual cab I chose the lux...so what is done to it...(oh it turned up 4 days late so they gave me a GX Prado to drive and threw in the Headlight and Bonnet protectors)

Already fitted:
Mats
Bonnet & Headlight Protectors
Tray Liner
Tow bar

On Order:
Speedy 16x7 Prado copies
265/75/16 BFG All Terrains (already have done 100km on the Patrol on black steelies which will go on ebay)

On order/paid for/waiting for fitment:
ARB Deluxe Winch Bar Colour Coded
IPF 900x spotlights
Snorkel
ERPS Electronic Rust Protection
Dual Batteries with points in rear tray
GME TX3440 UHF and large antenna
2 Inch lift kit. OME with heavy duty rear leafs and 884 front springs (this will be a tow vehcile for the Mazda...yes its not stock...)
ARB Canopy colour coded
Some other little things that I currently have forgotten
Oh tinting windows...

Pictures coming, sorry guys been slack.

Yes that is where I confirmed my idea to put them on in that size, bugger paying for 17 inch tyres and bugger getting genuine Prado wheels...

Ok, pictures finally.

Sorry, no pictures when I got it home, did not have the dealer do the pre-delivery detail as I detail show cars in my spare time...like there is alot of that.

Anyway, mods in pictures are window tint, removal of that gay rear sticker, and the 16x7 Prado copies and BFG All Terrains.

Looking good mate, I love the RX7 too. The FC RX7's are all rust buckets over here unless they've been imported recently.
Do the 265's rub at all or have you got a lift on the front?

The 265's only slightly rub on the passenger side mud flap and full lock in reverse for some reason, otherwise under normal driving no...but when the ARB bar goes on I will adjust the castor so that it won't rub at all.

The Mazda is not an import, its Australian Delivered, with Logbooks and more mods than I can poke a stick at..and definitely no rust...

Yes, it does need to go offroad, we are heading camping on the 24th of July, so it might get dirty if I stay sober enough to drive it...

Quinny is doing a special on the spray mud on at the moment for all NewHilux.net members for $50 he will add this important mod to your lux he only needs your shinny baby for two days.
Very professional job would highly recommend him to do this mod for your.
He will also include a couple of high qually pics for your shed profile.
The problem with doin' nothing is that you never know when youre finished
