Well, after much debate have decided against the D4D hilux and have decided to take a TRD instead. Simply due to not being satisfied with the go in the diesel, even if it was chipped and I wasnt happy with the 4 speed auto as I do mostly highway driving.
Ordered today, should take delivery in 2 weeks. I will keep this thread as my question/build thread so I dont clutter up the forum with new topics.
I plan on upgrading front springs to King Springs, same as my last hilux. How ever, ive got a question for
anyone that might know. TRD is lower then standard hilux? I want to lift it like we do with the normal
SR5's
Do I need the exact same spring as on my old SR5? To get a 2.5" lift? Do I need to modify the bilstein strut?
Also, I plan on changing rims and tyres. I will be keeping my TRD rims and fitting some 32" STT's for
the fun times, but I need a allround touring/beach driving rim and tyre that will spend most its time on
the car. Last set up I had 18" with 285x60R18 Coopers HT Plus which performed great.
How ever, this time, I was thinking I wanted more rubber, but still keeping the 285 width if I could. I dont want tyres that are over 810? in rolling diameter as this will weigh too much and drain the fuel, was thinking a 17" 285? Anyone know any that will do the job? Mickey T ATZ's seem to be alright, just cant decide on size.
Now, as for rims, the car is silver and I want a black or Gunmetal coloured rim. Anyone know of any that look good?
Exhaust- Im getting pacemakers with hi flow cats into a lukey - Full 2.5" Stainless steel system. Does anyone know if they modified the standard V6 Exhaust or is it still the same?
Anyway, enough for now
