New web site update

Postby Dave on Mon, 11 Jan 2010 11:24 +0000

Hi everyone,

I have just finished doing the long awaited update for the front page of the web site.
This also includes an updated look & feel of the shed profile area.

One major new feature added which allows you to add up to four Youtube video clips (maybe more down the track)

Take a look and tell us what you think!

Cheers, Dave

Looks good dave

Just please dont change the forum too much as my other cars forum GtRydaz decided to update their site and toatly stuffed it up and lost nearly every member after having over 5000 members.

I really like the format of this site and it actually work very well. I hope that it always will.

I hope im not a kill joy

Thanks fellas... I'm glad I had finally got it finished... the things you can do when your meant to be on holidays! (don't tell the wife)

Diegothecat, I completely know what you mean... No, definitely won't be, I had been considering it though as I was going to change to some different forum software but it would mean everyone would have to reset their passwords and such, so it was put into the "too hard basket" :)

The only thing that may change from time to time would be the header banner up the top... it's due for a change soon! perhaps something similar to the newtriton site!

if you could organise it to fit there are a couple of good shots taken by Jiggins from the Newvember trip down south of all the group members who attended that weekend and im sure there will be more like this to come on the Coffs Harbour weekend...

This might also encourage more people to attend the group meets so they can get a pic of their car in the header...

Maybe if it wasn't to hard it could change every week or month or something ... like google does.. :D

See how we go - but sounds like a good idea to me :)

Just another quick update, we now have a "Hilux of the month!"

Encourages people to investigate the site; a few teasers on the front page will grab more people's attention. Cleverly formatted Dave.

You noticed that eh... Yeah if you are not signed into the forum, it won't let you see more profiles etc. Topics on the site are still and will continue to be for registered users so anything to entice users to sign up is a good thing 8-)

Dave, looks very tidy mate 8-)
One question tho...how do you pick the lux of the month? Does it automatically pick a random profile each month or something??

Cheers

Dave, instead of youtube vids, can I put vids uploaded to photobucket there instead?

Mmaaxx.
Ive tried it a few times in my profile with a vid that I have saved in photobucket and it doesn't seem to work. Ive used all the linking options as well to no avail?

John, It's a vehicle I pick manually at the moment.

Mmaaxx, I'll take a look at that one, could be a possibility for sure.

Had to do some fancy stuff for getting the Youtube one working, it's not as easy as I thought :) but I'll give it a shot later this weekend if all goes to plan!
