Welcome to the new Forum

Thanks fellas

Yep I recognise posts are being put half way through the thread, this was because of a silly time issue with the import last night, it caused posts to be further in the future by half a day.. it should be all good in the next 2 hours.

Chat! Yeah for sure, I'm trialling out a new one at the moment, hopefully be up and running Friday night!

Dave and Helpers,

Great work guys!! It is sensational to see things developing to new and bigger things as time goes on. Indicates a healthy forum of like minded people sharing a passion for a common interest. Exactly the kind of thing this medium is well suited for.

Again, a shout-out to those involved in the admin side of keeping it all going.

Thankyou

Good one Dave, all seems well now, Guys, dont put email addresses in your posts as it seems to bugger them and wont allow the reply to be submitted. Give it a go, but it wont work for me. IT all good though, I took out the Email addy and away it went. Cheers TOMUCH

Dave, I have had a problem with PMs to. Received PM from David Allan via my personal email but it wasn't in my Mail box here. I have replied to him but like another user is remains in my outbox and not in the sent items.

FYI.

Hi Ken,

You don't need to browse all the different categories when you first log on, you will find it much better if you follow my one small tip that I have loved to like with these type of forums, which is...
when you log into the forum, simply click the "View new posts" button and you'll find it will show all the topics like they used to be but only the ones that have been added or replied too since the last time you logged in. Then I quit.. or just continue browsing old posts, using the much improved search facility, etc.

I think if you take advantage of that button, you should hopefully enjoy the new layout more.

The older forum was really having problems keeping up with the amount of posts and members using it, often new posts were getting doubled up and corrupt which I was having to fix all the time. This new forum is far superior over the old one with how it works and the likes.

Cheers

I think what you are experiencing is, you've received an email notification about a private message that was done on the old system before it was upgraded and because PM's were not able to be imported straight away, you can't see it. I think when you send a PM it will stay in the Outbox and will remain there until the other person reads it, then it will be automatically moved into your Sent items.

If anyone requires their mailbox from the old site, send me a PM and I'll retrieve them and send it to you.

Cheers

I have been used to this sort of layout from other forums i have been looking at. It will be good once we all get used to it( clicking the new posts helps heaps. I cant seam to find the chat site we all used every monday night (which we all enjoyed).
You are doing a great job and have come a long way over the last 3 or more years. and i thank you .

Thanks guys!

Yeah chat is coming back soon!
And member numbers, they are all the same... you just need to hover your house over someones picture in the forum or their name in the member list and look at the taskbar down the buttom it should say something like the following:

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=11

If you see the number at the end after the u= it is the member number..

I'll eventually have the member number shown on the forum posts, cheers for mentioning it as I think it's a good thing sometimes :)
