Postby Dave on Tue, 12 Aug 2008 11:44 +0000

Hi everyone,

As I have practically got the new forum all running smoothly along with the original vehicle profiles working with it, I am pleased to announce that the upgrade will occur at 9pm WST on Wednesday the 13th of August.

It will cause the site to be shut down for approx 30-45 minutes.

Cheers
Dave

No probs mate, you're welcome!

Triton site has been completed... so now it's time for the Hilux site, then Navara comes next....

Please bare in mind people, it took just on 1 hour for the Triton site migration, so I'm going to bump the Hilux ETA up a little bit... 1 - 1/2 hours.

Actually Dave did have a question.
Will the new system link photos back to the my photos option on the old system?
The reason I ask is I am about to send out before the weekend 20 breather kits. Alot of the guys might want to have a go at fitting them over the weekend. The technical articles for the kits link to both photobucket and my photos. I know you have 10000 things to do so I have copied the articles to my email address and refreshed the links to the photos just in case. And will start new threads for each article and just copy them on the moderator can delete them at a later date when the technical articles are back up an running. Will that be OK?
Just wanted to know if the links to myphotos will still work on the new system.
Thanks Dave
Cheers

Hi Skog,

Good question! I will ensure that the article shows up, perhaps even if you could paste it into a forum topic for now and we'll move it when we get onto the new system. I'll make sure all the myphotos pictures still work for now though until I fully migrate the myphotos feature across to the new system.

just checked out the triton site....very flash indeed, cant wait for the hilux one to be changed over.

by the way, how come the triton one was done first? I thought the new hilux forum was the first one up?

Or was it done first so that if anything stuffed up there, you'd work it out so the same thing dont happen here?

LOL ;)

The Triton is the R&D vehicle to come up with the superior Hilux version. They think they are special we think they are the Guinea Pig..........everyone is a winner
8-) 8-)
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Same here Mmaaxx,
Went over the dark side and had a look. Looks great, I now see why it has taken some time as it looks like a lot of work has gone in to it. Takes me 10 minutes to type a reply let alone all that stuff.

It looks a bit more technical than this current site which may scare a few people but in time it should be good.

Good luck Dave with another late night coming up. Great work.

Regards,
Camwill69

Ps, could not give a #$%^ which site comes first as it is all to our benifit. Fellow 4x4 ute drivers. Whats 24 hours between freinds.

Not sure why I choose the Triton one first, no real reason, leave the Tritons alone :)

Yeah camwill, it's definitely taken a bit to get the importing correct.. so much has to be done for it to all work properly along with maintaining the original profile pages, but glad it's all done now... hopefully it will be a bit smoother tonight..

Ha ha.. you guys are waiting up for it? I feel sorry for you :) I know it's a bad addiction this site but didn't think it's that much of an addiction :)
