80,000km service at Motorama Hillcrest $454.00
I think the 90,000km service, should be $240.00.

xrdave,
yeah just curious mate i'm heading for 50k soon thats the only thing that hasn't been checked on mine is the valve clearances and as i understand things they are supposed to be done stone cold i'm told by a mate who should know .
when i was buying a new fuel filter the other day at b....... toyota iasked the spare parts guy how many lifters they had sold ? none was the answer .
40k is only 400 hrs at 100 ks
the cummins in the boat gets a cold set/ injector check every 1000 hrs
food for thought

How much for service?

Postby Rich on Tue, 24 Jul 2007 11:57 +0000

I had the Oil and filter done at 1000 km and again at 5,000 Km and have changed the oil every 5,000 from then on. I have a mate who went by the book and never did his Oil until 10,000 when it was new.
I do the 5,000 km services myself now and just get Toyota to do the them every 10,000.

How much for service?

Postby Rich on Fri, 27 Jul 2007 12:32 +0000

I am having the 40,000 km service done today at Toyota and this morning when I dropped it off, I was quoted about $551.00

Seems expensive.

Anyone else payed that much for 40,000 km service??

How much for service?

Postby Rich on Fri, 27 Jul 2007 12:54 +0000

After I typed that last message, I thought to myself, I am going to ring them and check...so I just spoke to the service people and they had the wrong schedule, I think they had a petrol schedule, cause they were apparently changing spark plugs and stuff like that on my diesel !!
The price just went down by about $100 anyway....
they are changing diff oils and just checking everything else. The service book says to check valve clearances, but they reckon they don't do it...?
I wish I had the know how to do everything myself and not just the 5,000 km oil changes.

on the bright side, holden never changed the oil in my diff, i recognised that faint whining noise, took it in, asked them to do it, they wanted to charge me a fortune for something thats not that hard (although i wasnt goin to attempt it without a pump)
had my uncle do it dirt cheap (head mechanic at subaru).

Rich,

I have the same thoughts as yourself.

I reckon I'm even worse than you mate!

I don't even change the engine oil myself.

I'll be sending mine to Toyota tomorrow for 30k service.
Cheers
