are all 90915YZZD2 oil filters genuine Toyota?

I'm considering buying a carton of 10 x 90915YZZD2 oil filters via eBay (seller in Sydney) for $125 (includes postage).

How much can I trust the claim that they are a genuine Toyota part?

Has anyone purchased these via eBay and been satisfied that the filters are genuine?

I would be wary of buying oil filters from flea bay as there are just too many counterfeits around.

I always get my filters from a mate who sells Toyota genuine parts.

I always tell him, make sure you don't sell me bloody imitation stuff.

There was a massive batch last year labelled as genuine filters that were made in China that made it through to the dealerships....how much is your engine worth?

If that is correct, that fake (chinese) filters made it through to some dealerships, who can be trusted?

The real ones are made in Thailand or Japan?

$12.5 for a factory filter is normal here but rediculously expensive in pacific standard. I used to buy V6 Camry oil filters (which is the same one for Hilux) from the Hong Kong Toyota dealer for A$7 dollar each. The street price of a claimed genuine toyota filter is A$4 in Hong Kong (this is how the Sydney guy makes money). Other Repco type is A$3 each. My idea is either buy toyota part only from dealer or buy reputable generic part from repco/supercheap etc.

$12.5 can buy you a genuine TRD filter from the official TRD outlet (the Subaru STI equivalent of Toyota) in Hong Kong.

Also I just don't understanding why a repco air filter for my camry costs $40 here and the one from the same factory costs A$4 in Hong Kong.

Car parts selling is robbery in this country.

I don't understand why anyone would risk a $40K vehicle with a $4 filter. When in doubt, DON'T!
