Postby jippo on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 7:09 +0000

gday fellas i have gone back over the last 5 or so pages and haven't really found a answer to my question, which is im putting ome lift kit on next week and plan to put cooper stt 265/75r16 on roh trojans 16x8. Will there be any rubbing at all? oh its a sr5 twin cab with a steel tray. Thanks shane.

yet another suspension/tyre question??

Postby Hilux Max on Fri, 10 Aug 2007 8:48 +0000

it all depends on the offset of the wheels you get mate.

wuth 265's it should be less of a problem. somewhere between -12 offset Ive heard from ATS in Geelong, to -5 offset like the wheels I got (thou i got bigger tyres), thou Ideally I reckon something like a patrol offset of about +10 or +12 would be perfect for ya.

anyone else got any comments for him?

mmaaxx,

Why wouldn't you just use the original +30 offset if you are running 265's?

not sure of the offset on the trojans might have to look into it. Just spoke to on track 4x4 who is doing the suspension and he was unsure but said he had some 265 there we could try once the lift is done. Thanks for the replys fellas.

Going by the roh website the trojans come in either a +0 or +30.

stoney, Im running 285's, by choice, and chose this after I had bought the rims. I should have done abit more homework on the rim offset i needed because it could have been better. The bloke who sold me the wheels said that the -5 offset was fine for 265's as it pushed the wheel/tyre to the edge of the flare, to give it a tuffer look.

+30 isnt good with tyres over 265 wide in that the tyre would touch on the upper control arm. so you'd need to space it further out.

Mate, I have ROH RTX +30 with 265/75R16 ST's and there is 10mm clearance from the little bump on the control arm and have had no problems and have about 20000k on them. Macca

i have 33's on the standard sr5 rims n they slightly touch the upper control arm but only just.... just bought sum american racing rims with +20 offset n these hit the front brake calipers so just goin 2 space them out bout half an inch to clear everything, just need longer wheel studs

jippo,
Check you + & - you dont want to pay your hard earned and find you have a rim that wont fit, once a tyre is mounted the rim becomes 2nd hand!.
