BODYLIFT BIBLE DOCUMENT

Anything over 2" needs an engineer's certificate so it's still applicable with our kit. In NSW you will only be able to do a body lift with a maximum 2" suspension lift to still remain in the NCOP guidelines. Our kit provides the highest legal lift in Australia. Before you install you would still need to talk to an engineer to get some assurance that it can be passed. Even though the industry knows there isn't a problem with the airbags, nobody has been able to prove it to the RTA and it's still heavily restricted. With the tyres, they will still scrub with our kit but one of the main advantages of a kit like ours is that we reinforce the hub support which is prone to bending with larger tyre/wheel combos.

Thanks Bendan, I am still a little un shore of the ins and outs of your kit???? Does your kit cut the cross member under the front of the gear box.......There is a 4x4 action dvd with a hilux running 35's and they showed akit like yours that drops the LCA's but the diff was also moved down with the cross member cut in a pritty rough way....I have read that you will have a stall at the eastern creek show, I will be looking to make a mind up as to weather its worth the troble to run 33's or just to be happy with the CAL KIT and 32's........ Hope to see you and your ute there..... I'll be one of the weirdo's drooollliiinngg next to your ute and trying to show my wife why i need to spend money on my ute.
******If you can ignore it its not a real problem******

That one on the DVD is in Coffs Harbour and it runs a Procomp Tacoma 5" kit that was shipped to aus for a million dollars without anyone doing the measurements.

It was sold through Wizard on the Coast and some ARB guys in Coffs who run a shop there set it up.

It looks terrible underneath with how much grinding and chopping that had to happen to make it work.

so my mate came up with this question for me, but because my car is a petrol and not a desiel i didnt know the answer, hopefully someone on here does tho.. Wen I body lift my truck, Wat do I do bout the rubber seal that goes around the intercooler. Sits between the bonnet & the engine sealing the air coming thru the scoop and into intercooler, because once I lift it there will be an extra two inch gap wat do I do bout that.

Send me a PM as I have a couple of ideas to fix this. It is pretty easy.

Just want to inquire, just body lifted my lux 4" I'm having problems with the extended steering rod, I installed a cross joint assemble as an extension, prob is, when I turn left and right, the rod swings left to right that it teared the rubber guide connected on the floor where the rod is inserted, any ideas about the rod?

Enlarge the hole in the firewall so the shaft can turn freely, Mount the rubber flange there onto a separate metal plate and then bolt that plate over the enlarged hole so the rubber flange is relocated in correct alignment and you have a watertight seal into the cabin.

Problem is sir, it turns violently, it tears the rubber guide, any ideas about how to go about the steering rod and how it's suppose to behave and look like when body lifted 4"?

It's not clear what you have done, so we can't advise you but it sounds like you need to rethink how you are extending the steering shaft. The VMN extension I manufacture fits below the firewall away from the rubber guide you refer to.

Old thread but to save starting a new one, Rod dont spose you do a kit thats only say 1" or aroundabouts? Would be pretty much same kit with shorter blocks/bolts and maybe not necessary to do the steering rod extension and radiator drop.

Me thinks this would be a sweet way to go if you already have a 2" suspension lift and 32" but want that little bit of extra clearance to run a 33' tyre without having to buy whole new 3" sus lift kit with diff spacers...

I've asked rod about this a while ago and he said there is no market for it and not too interested (sorry rod if Ive got it wrong there).

But a guy does it on eBay, comes with everything you need, search hilux body lift and they will come up...
