Mate each to their own.. I have the OME, and have had the fronts replaced.. but they perform well, and I carry a lot of weight.. they just arnt as high as I expected.. I had the XGS setup in my old lux, and could not fault them either...what decided it for me was customer service... I got excellent customer service from Darwin ARB, when Darwin TJM didnt want to know me.. they couldnt sell air to a drowning man.. If there are any members in your area, with the setups you are considering.. talk to them and try and get out to meet and have a good look at what they have, and what they like about it... Cheers TOMUCH

suspension kits

i got my ome suspension fitted today, it gives a better ride than factory. it is not as bumpy and bouncy especially in the rear, it seems to float a bit more over bumps instead of bouncing really hard if that makes sense.
it lifted about 60mm in the front and 50mm in the rear but i suspect it will drop alittle after a couple of weeks. overall pretty happy but then again i have only done about 40km so far, ask me again at the end of the week...Glenn
ps $2000 sounds abit steep

I have been talking to Caloffroad and they have quoted me a bit over 1800 to supply an adjustable suspension kit. The front springs can be set at standard or +50m or +75mm. The shocks are Skyjacker from the US and have a lifetime warranty. The rear springs have a plus 250kg rating over standard and lift 50mm. I have airbags in the back so thats cool. Anyone else have them?

Glenn,
What OME springs did you get to achieve 50mm lift in the front?
I did not get that much lift out of the OME. More like 30mm.

cam,
i got the medium springs not the heavy duty. i also got fitted art the same time a set of cooper st all terrains, 31x10.5x15 so i guess that may have made abit of a difference also. it is about 60 mm in the front at the moment so i am happy with that but no doubt it will sag a bit over time...

I have the medium duty OME and got a measured 38mm lift on the front as measured bottom of rim to guard.

I have found them excellent and currently have done 10,000km on the suspension.

Cheers

The skyjacker kit isnt much different to what I have in my vehicle in that they use 3 inch struts as I do, and not the drop bracket kit.

except my kit is almost half the price of the skyjacker one. and I have a full 3 inches too.;)

the front foam cell struts and matching rear shocks plus reset rear factory leaves cost me $1600

then 1 inch lift blocks, another 120 bux or so

then the extra 15mm collar on the bottom of the strut to give me another 30mm lift to compensate for the drop due to ARB Bar fitment 120bux.

so its bout $1840 so far.

not including the snake racing extended rear LSPV brake line extension.

will upgrade the factory bushes soon with proper items and also get a greasable shackle put in.

so it'd be bout 2000bux when all done.

I chose to do it this way as funds allow and when they are there, and I have no complaints so far.

will slowly upgrade other components bit by bit as time goes by, that way it wont hurt my pocket all at once and in the meantime I can study up on various setups and see what has worked and what hasn't and how much various items cost.

I find the US forums are a goldmine of information as they have a far larger 4x4'ing comunity then we do here in Australia aswell as more products aswell and you can read up on all their experiences. and then relate it to your own needs.

8-)
