Postby sox on Wed, 07 Sep 2011 2:24 +0000

REMOVE GLOVEBOX, BEHIND GLOVEBOX IS A RECTANGULAR COVER ELONGATED HORIZONTALLY WITH CLIP ON ONE SIDE, UNLCIP IT AND SWING IT OUT.

THEN PULL THE A.C FILTER OUT. 10 SECOND JOB.

USE A TORCH, MAY BE HARD TO SEE WITH EVERYTHING BEING DARK AND BLACK BEHIND THERE.

Sox,

Try this thread mate, it was discussed a while ago.. http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=907&hilit=pollen+filter
Should have pics showing the cover/location etc.
I think the early models didnt have the removable cover but it was adaptable , you could cut out the filter slot
and purchase the cover from your local stealer ;) Cleaned mine out the other day, sooo much leaves & dirt n sht
built up in there!

Cheers,
Craig

Sox, been an 05 it will not have the "hole" punched out not the cover. From a wreckers get cover then a filter from toyota or repco.
I did it to my ute a May 06 built

It's your avatar mate. Have a look at the top left corner of the page. Click on 'User Control Panel' then click on the 'Profile' tab. Now click on 'Edit Avatar'. You can insert your picture there but it must be at or under the maximum size and dimensions.

Hey Crossport, while the Ryco Cabin Filter part RCA164P filter element will fit in the slot, the Aus/NZ Ryco website gives the replacement part as model RCA178P, which has the wider filter folds same as the original. http://www.ryco.co.nz/Default.aspx
