Hi, has anybody got pictures of sump guards to suit the 4WD 2006 Hilux?
I'm trying to convince Leonie, thats the missus, that I need one.
thanks, Peter.

mine were bout 185 each.

they are pretty straight forward to fit, thou the transmission guard rear bolts are abit dicky as you will find out. the the threaded plate that your supposed to slide into the crossmember to get the bolt through, I found was easier to manouver if you cut the wire holding it a little.

Thanks Max, I will order a set on Monday. After looking under the Hilux that Leonie drives for work and seeing a smashed fuel cooler and badly dinted sump guard I figured it wouldn't take much to convince her.http://www.newhilux.net/imghost/images/BTi82636.jpg">

I have also just got the TJM gaurds, they are great but they do not cover the entire auto transmission. The transfer case that has the front drive shaft coming out of it is left with the original tiny bash plate on it.... (mine has several dents already)

Still a worthwhile investment... I will however get the boys in the workshop to help me rig something up to cover this part....

My truck came with a Fuel Cooler protecting mesh, from factory!

Now, the sump guards look pretty similar to what i've got, but the front prtotecting panel on my truck is still the oem and looks as bad as peter's.

Mmaaxx, would you care showing me a few more pics of the sump guard? Do you have more images of it before you mounted it?

Thanks,
Andres

Guys, I've just ordered mine from TJM Blacktown. Quoted around $200 each and they will fit for me at that price as I've ordered a radio too and have lots of other stuff to buy. Looks like they will be a worthwhile investment.
Ask for Earle at the Blacktown (Sydney) store and tell him the ex Jeep guy now with the Hilux sent you. Cheers mogofo

Checked my recipt.... $167 each from TJM Albury... plus fitting.. (Fitting was next to nothing as I had a heap of gear done at once) I dont think they are all that hard to fit yourself though...

This forum is costing me a pack :(
After looking under my vehicle and seeing the damage from only two 4x4 outings I will order a set of TJM gaurds tomorrow.

Been waiting a month now. I'd say they do them in production runs and they are waiting for enough orders.
I have nothing good to say down here so I wont say anything at all

I'm dropping into both ARB Gold Coast and Wizard Performance in Labrador to get quotes on custom under body guards. Wizard sound like they know what they are doing and shouldn't cost too much more but would get more protection than the TJM. We'll see next week.

I think ARB are now interested since I told them there were a few guys on this site going to TJM to get them.
