Gregsr

a 10mm groove could give you 25mm like it gave me, depend how high you are already, the higher you are when its done the higher it goes up

Wade Your spot on about Snake racing they sold me a diff breather kit which included one for the rear and the front. When I rang them about the front already their from Toyota they said it was not, I think they thought it was the same as the Parado. Then the the next thin was they where to short to go anywhere, they said to curl up and place as high up under the tub as I could. Next problem was they fell apart so through them away and made my own.

mmaaxx,

hmmm, not as helpful as I thought.

Doug67,

I see what you are saying, as the angle of the control arm increases so does the effect.
So a 10mm spacer is worth around 15mm plus, depending on your starting point.

I hadn't thought of that.

10mm could also give more just depends on what height you are starting at, the higher you are when you do it the more you will get.

If the Snake racing kit rotates the diff in it mounts it will bugger up the angles for the tailshaft to the front diff and would be a bigger problem for us blokes without ADD as the tailshaft spins all the time moving the wear into the tailshaft itself. It could also increase takeoff shudder as well and perhaps unbalance the tailshaft at high speeds. I can t make out where the other spacers go.??

I have two old man emu 5mm strut spacers in the front. ARB did the before and after measurements for me. 5mm gives you 15mm in this case.

In regards to Snake's quality. Why hasn't anybody out of 1400 members on this forum, gone with the snake lift kit? I think this says it all

Wade,

I found Snake's pricing extremely high.....

Furthermore, I don't see many Aussies using it.

Even Ultimate Suspension which was very popular in the early 1990's here is practically dead over here now and not very popular in OZ too.

When Old Man Emu (OME) suspension first appeared, we were wondering what the hell was this emu doing? At that time Ultimate ruled the 4x4 suspension world.
We were drooling over the DeCarbon mono-tube gas dampers and the Ultimate Gibson Ryders.

So in short, Wade has summed it all up for us!

;) ;) ;)
Cheers

so wade, what ypu said was a 5mm coil spacer gives you 15mm height overall on the vehicle when completed huh?

so would a 10mm coil spacer give you 25mm or an inch exactly once fitted going by this rule?

do ARB sell a 10 mm coil spacer? if they do Ill be on the phone to em tomorrow as I want that extra inch.

thanks mate

WEll, I got an answer from snake... I asked how this kit lowered the front diff and where the components fitted.. I explained that i could not figure out where they went and was not going to spend money on something that I could not understand how it worked... their reply....

G'day Mark

The kit reduces the angles on the Cv's as stated on the website.

Thanks

Rhino

Very Helpful... I think I'll just not bother...

Fella's,

heres a good writeup from the toyota120 forum from a members experience with the Toytec diff drop kit he installed to his Tacoma...which is almost identical to our hilux, and he has used diagrams and pictures to help us all understand what he has done, and how his diff drop hasnt worked.

Im not saying the snake kit is the same but I thought since so many of us are interested in this product, it wouldnt hurt to have a quick read.

Thanks Mmaaxx... a handy read.. think I will just give it a miss.. not worth the aggravation by the sounds of it.. my CV angles arent that bad.. but ai am looking at a 25mm strut spacer, and thought it might have been handy... Cheers TOMUCH
