Electric Windows control

Hi TOMUCH and all,

While on the subject of electric window, could you tell me if the drivers side window is ment to auto up as well as auto down. Mine only autos down and all other cars that I have owned with electric windows have autoed both ways.

It is a pain having to manual up all the time.

Regards,
Camwill69;)

The Hilux driver's side power window only goes down on auto.

Up is manual control.

That's Toyota cutting cost...... LOL
Cheers

Would think it would need more than a switch, but hey if you find out let me know... would be very keen on that.... If only we could get our hands on a wiring diagram... would be very handy.....TOMUCH

there is a fix for that, but you will lose other functionalities... I will explain... if you fit an aftermarket turbo timer, you will have from 30 secs to 5 mins to operate your windows until the timer shuts off your engine.... however you will not be able to use the remote key to lock your car... youhave to manually lock it... There is another solution... I have one but have not fitted it yet..lost the wiring diagram...am waiting on a replacement... it is an auto window closer... I am told it works off the door lock sensor. When you press the lock button on your remote, it senses that and automaticly winds up any window that has been left down.... these gadgets were found in top end Euro cars years ago... but seem to have phased out... or they just aren't that exciting anymore and nobody cares...LOL You can get these things for two or four door operation... when I get the wiring diagram back I will install it and let you all know how it went... Cheers TOMUCH

Nah mate I haven't really got around to it yet but it was a matter of providing permanent power through the relay from memory, I did it ages ago on my Landcruiser .... I will look at it again soon and get it sorted, forgot about it really.

On my merc van when you lock the doors via the remote and hold down the lock button it puts up any left down windows until you let go of the button....you would think a n aftermarket mob would have something like that
