$200 sound a bit steep, i thought they were about $120 or $140 for a set but i could be wrong, worth doing a ring around. maybe they are charging you to fit them also

yeah last time i looked at them they were about $80 each from ARB.. you can get em slightly cheaper, but being IPF ARB sorta has the monopoly on them..

have you looked at other alternatives ?

one of my fatboys blew last week, got about 15 months out of them so that wasn't to bad, but i replaced them with phillips +80's for $60 for the pair, half the price of the fatboys.

Save your money and go HID.

The light output is fair greater than any halogen globe.

I use +50 globes and eyeing at the +80 H4.

The Osram Silverstar's after more than a year service is still good. Can't justify changing over to +80 until the globe goes south.

As it is, my headlights are too high after the lift and I need to re-aim them downwards. I get flashed at night too often from oncoming traffic.

Cheers

So what are the standard globes that we have? I assume that the +50 +80 etc is the power output so how much different to the standards ones are they?

smithy,
they are referingto the light output as compared to a standard H4 halogen globe.
up to +50 % , +80% more light .
they dont use anymore curent to run they are still 55/60 watts
cheers

I have a set of old Cibie Oscars fitted but still not happy with the light output. Would I be better off upgrading the driving light globes or the original car globes?

Cheers Alby

I found in all 3 4wd's that doing a headlight wiring upgrade is well worth the money, you can either get a wiring harness upgrade from ARB or someone like that or check out someone elses, copy it, and do the job youself. Generally the voltage drop threw the orginal harness is detremental to globe output - just upgrade the wiring from the batterey to the globe via the new harness.

Jason,

You are correct and I believe Angus (Redbeard) has the ARB wiring harness.

I did not do mine as the headlights are already quite bright as it is now.

Hey has anybody upgraded the bulbs in the fog lights which come in the ARB bars? I find they are quite dull compared to the original toyota fog lamps which were great? If so what did you put in?

Are they using HB4 globes?

If they are, they are the same globe as the original foglight on the SR5.

I used Philips +30 HB4 globes when i still had the original bumper. After installing the ARB bul bar, i have no more foglights but have instead driving lights.

Since having them installed it makes a major difference compared to the original globes, Brighter, whiter and even a wider scope. That is just on the low beam. Hig beam no difference. Well worth it
