Hi guys
I have been over this thread a few times and every time I get to the end I am even more confused. I have a diesel manual and I put on 265/75/16 a few months back, having to gear down all the time is getting to me and at 1500 RPM down she doesn't sound happy. Tossing up between a 3.9 and 4.1 regear, the diff specialist is pushing the 4.1 saying 3.9 isn't with it as 4.1 has more gains but is yet to elaborate. I know 3.9 will bring it to stock gearing and 4.1 will bring it up 5.3% from stock gearing but I am wondering what difference this 5% will make? I know it is only 100 odd RPM but I wasn't a fan of the 8% difference in the opposite direction.
what the pros and cons are of going to 4.1? From what I can gather
ProsTouch better for crawling
quicker take offs
ConsRevs too high?
I'm all ears for anyone's experience/input
cheers
