It depends how lucky you are... It's a lot of money and if the vehicle has been properly serviced and low kilometers most of any expected problems have already happened. Many of these 2nd hand warrantees are just dollars for the dealer and don't cover much... mostly a big cash bonus for the salesman.
Read the fine print and get the vehicle checked by an Independent mechanic such as your local NRMA or equivalent. Regular services are your best insurance.
Skrewdriver it's good for you that you got your money's worth but that was a new vehicle? You sure it wasn't an ex taxi? Those last au falcons were pretty ordinary and if it was 2nd hand probably got a hammering from the original owner...all those problems are more likely to be a vehicle that was driven into the ground... Or underwater! 2nd hand is a whole different kettle of fish.
I once bought an XB falcon van 1 year old 2nd hand (in my shed) and it was a beauty, I wondered why it had new carpets until I found the sills were full of mud
so it probably was written off after the floods and re-birthed
