LPG is sometimes hard on the top end because it doesn't contain UCL. Good suggestion to use petrol occasionally to keep it all in good shape.
I have now covered 500klm with LPG and have found 15L / 100 klm on mainly freeway with 40psi in the tyres. 100 klm with a 200kg motorbike on an MX carrier and 400 klm empty. I dropped the tyres to 34 psi with 50% freeway and achieved 20L / 100 klm with no load.
I have now covered 200 klm with 95 petrol and just going off the cars trip computer of 7.3 klm / litre it looks like a average of 13.7L / 100 klm. This was 30% freeway, 70% city, no load and 34 psi.
Driving style is conservative.
So, my early conclusion is:
LPG (99c per L, 34 psi, none or small load, 50 City /50 Freeway) Cost per 100 klm $19
Petrol ($2.10 per L, 34 psi, none or small load,70 City / 30 Freeway ) Cost per 100 klm $29
These are my preliminary figures, there may be errors in my calcs, I will keep logging and see how it goes. The psi in the tyres seems to be a big factor as well as the Freeway % of course.
I have read the various atricles about additional lube systems for LPG motors and am not sure if one was fitted to mine, I will investigate and fit if required although my klm PA is likely to be under 10,000 so maybe not required?
