Unreal thread. Has been hugely informative so thanks to all the contributors.
I have a bit of a rattle I'm trying to find and thought I'd see whether anyone catches anything in these outputs that I cant. The rattle comes on from about 1800rpm onward to 2500ish. I'm not sure if it goes or is drowned out by the general engine noise. Doesn't appear to impact performance, but drives me crazy. 2012 SR 97ks stock as a rock.
To date I've:
- had intake pulled apart and cleaned - very dirty;
- Had a solution based decarbon done;
- Cleaned MAF and MAP filter;
- Done a pilot quantity relearn;
- Tried a tank with a bit of 2 stroke oil - no notable difference.
Performance, responsiveness and noises have improved with the above but am still getting this rattle.
I read earlier in this thread the EGR is sometimes the culprit, so I was thinking of getting a Manual Mapper to test that.
Alternatively I thought it may also be the SCV which on idle bounces around around the 1500 kpa - 2000 kpa mark - image below is on warm idle.
