incman, We always run all terrains on every car we own, even mud terrains on some. They are fine, even in the wet, provided they have some siping in the tread. The Kelly TSR's had some reasonable siping in the tread, moreso than the BF Goodrich all terrain's did. I am going to be going to the Toyo Open Country AT2's for my next set, and will let you know how they go. I hear the Toyo are great tires, my old man runs them on his pootrol, and they are quite puncture proof, but that isn't going to help you on a slippery road unfortunately.
Bottom line, you won't drive a your hilux exactly the same with the AT's as you did with the HT's, but in my opinion, it can be a worthwhile tradeoff for most situations, once your used to it, you just need to break a little earlier, and pick an all terrain tyre that has a bit of siping in the tread to allow for decent wet weather performance.
