Highlights

> Toyota says maximum towing capacity will rise from 2.5-tonnes to 3.5-tonnes.
> Toyota will stretch its number of individual variants to 31, including a new high-riding two-wheel drive double cab, similar to the Ford Ranger Hi-Rider.
> The new model brings a considerable improvement in NVH, the diesel engines are much quieter plus there is additional coverage of sound material.
> The eighth-generation HiLux is 70mm longer, 20mm wider and features a lower roofline than the model it replaces. Inside, Rear seat passengers are afforded further comfort thanks to 35mm of extra leg room and rear air vents, making it one of the few commercial utes on the market with rear air vents. Second row passengers also get a fold down arm rest.
> New underpinnings bring more rigidity and better steering response than before, Toyota claims. A double wishbone configuration with a stabiliser bar resides at the front end, paired with a leaf spring rear armed with two shock absorbers on each side.

Factory rear diff lock ????? surely not how many years has this been something we have wanted.
