Mine is a D4D 4spd.
I believe this temp is the outlet from the gearbox, there is a sensor on the outlet pipe and measuring the pipe with my infra red thermometer it is always very very close (like +/- 1) to the scan gauge figure. obviously always measured when stopped but have done it hot,cold and in-between.
Highest reading so far is about 85, I recently fitted a big ATF cooler, wish I had the scan gauge before I fitted it so I could compare.
