The only potential problem I see when using a locked differential on street (hard surfaces) is when you take corners. Straight line should be ok.
Having said that in the context of street or hard surfaces, if you are using a ARB air locker you can disengage the locker on corners to prevent potential issues. But you would have to remember to switch it off and then on again after taking the corner.
In this instance a Detroit or Lockright automatic locker would be a better choice as it will engage on straight line and disengage automatically when taking corners.
