I have been trying a few different brake components over the last few years and tried a new setup about 1000 k's ago that seems to be the best so far
I have been running DBA slotted rotors for about 18 months with genuine pads, and have tried Bendix standard 4wd, HD 4 WD and lastly their Ultimate pads. Out of the the three the 4wd was probably the better ones
Anyway I was due for a replacement so have fitted the new DBA 5000? PawPrint rotors but have tried a new pad from the USA called Akabono which my mechanic has been trailing on half a dozen vehicles and getting good results.
The peddle feel is by far the best I have had, I am experiencing no brake fade, they work just as well cold (something the HD 4WD pads were bad for, they need a lot of heat to work) and minimal brake dust (ultimate pads are very dusty and sometimes squeal)
The supplier that my mechanic gets his brake parts through told him about a valve body upgrade that they have been doing to the LSPV that makes it more sensitive so activates better, cost was less than $100 so I thought I would give it a go.
I am not sure what they do but I had to send my valve to them for modification, I think they may drill out the valve port to increase the flow but I am only guessing
Anyway I am very happy the the outcome, I am not sure how much credit I should be giving to the valve body upgrade but I do feel like my rears are carrying more load now than previously ,(my rear was not touched apart from being cleaned and adjusted) and my peddle feel is great
