Does that mean that in QLD we'll now be able to go 15mm over that size legally?

That can be confirmed- just checked the RTA database

lots of real good into available here, when new models are about to be released.

http://ols2.rta.nsw.gov.au/rvd/searchRVD.do?submitValue=start
type- car
Make- toyota
model- hilux

go down to the 4x4 dual cab- about 5 down from memory

Apparently my link above only works for me- must take not of my IP, who knows.

Anyway this link is prob better as you can search any year- see what tyres rims offsets standard suspension height.

Note this is what the cops will be using as their guide if they wish to measure/ check your vehicle.

Just checked out the database Nissans V6 navara is there already (still with 255/65/17 tyres)
And they are designating it a AWD with 6 speed manual and 5 speed auto- thought it was more than that???

Anyway only 15kg heavier than the current models ;)

That would be great if true. Does anyone know or is it still determined by the plates that are on the car?

Plates on the car- the database has each year seperate (cops check out your rego lable for year) type in in the computer and get all the info they need.

Just checked one out on monday in a car yard near Newcastle. It had the 17 inch wheels, traction and stability TD manual. Is this the one you are talking about? It seems it had been there before Saturday, but couldn't see it in another yard.

a question then.. (one that max will probably have to look up).. the new models with stock 31's (ish) are they running the same ratios in the diffs as our previous models or have they increased ratios to accomodate the larger tires ?

and.. as a follow up to that.. can we get the toyota tire placards for this new model as a spare part ?

max ?

Hey steve i have already enquired with toyota regarding the tyre placards. None available yet. No part numbers available for the placards as to new to toyota's system so they havent generated parts numbers yet for many of the spare parts that are new and havent carried through.

that would be the V6 petrol as the diesel only comes with the 7 speed auto, no manual

Not according to the database- that is compliance in NSW
No 7 speed for the V6 diesel- the auto still has a max of 5 speed.
