I would buy one simply because there is complete separation from the tub to the cabin which Prados and the like do not have....In my work we need that complete separation for safety to say say the least...If I didn't need that for work then I would probably not buy a ute anyway...Don't get me wrong I love the Hilux...It's a great car... just answering your question...
Maybe that kind of argument could be used for when they added the 4WD part of the 4WD Hilux's too ...It's a ute for Gods sake not a 4WD! .... There is nothing wrong with improving things... and changing from Leaf springs to Independent suspension improves many things IMO including It's 4WD capabilities and comfort. Like Imichie mentioned before I also don't think it will happen any time soon...
Cheers.
Independent suspension does not improve 4WD capabilities. Don't confuse independent with coils which is what the Prado has on the back but still runs a live axle. If you want to see how independent rear suspension performs off road, try a current model Pajero or Pathfinder.
Fair enough point, I think I was confusing the two...I like Hilux Max's idea as offering something else as an option if practicably possible.
And thanks for reposting the prices of those leaves. I appreciate that. Not a bad Idea for when my lux runs out of warranty.
I'll be looking on with great interest to see what Toyota offer in their New generation Hilux.
Cheers.
