Max

I too will be going down this road soon. I have a canopy so storage isn't the drama- it's fitting the tackers in the back seat. This presents 2 issues,

1- Does a baby capsule, both front and rear facing, fit in comfortably or does the person in say in the front passenger seat have to have the seat well fwd?

2- As I too will have one child out of a booster and sitting in the middle, is there something we can do seatbelt wise as opposed to just having him sit there with a dodgy lap sash? This is the only thing that truelly is a concern for me and could cause me to go to a bloody Prado

baby capsules fit no problem and theres plenty of room for the front seats both passenger and driver, even if the baby capsule is rear facing....

In regards to the centre lap sash seat belt...I guess you coudl make another mount in the middle and mount a harness there.....I actually havent given that that much thought?

Broke buy the Prado, imo the Lux is no contest with 3 kids in the car, we looked at the new Luxes when we bought the Playdo as I wanted one and they just dont compare room wise.

Tourer/Daily Driver - 120 V6 Prado with some mods and some bling.

Whilst they are more comfortable etc as a daily driver and kids bus, you are much more limited with carrying capacity (space and weight) compared to a Hilux for holiday trips etc. Fitting prams, bikes and all the usual crap

I agree Alby....the Prado is more comfortable to drive but has no where near the luggage capacity a dual cab tub has......

Child safety restraints are more of a priority for me than carrying capacity and I just don't think a lap sash cuts it- as opposed to a pretensioner seat belt.

I don't disagree with you Daniel, just that there isn't a easy solution to the problem. Each vehicle is a compromise in some form or another.
Best solution is for you blokes to stop breeding ;)

Better still, on the bloody roof rack!! Least I wouldn't hear her bleating about stuff!! :)

Thats true you are limited but its also dust and waterproof, something the utes never are, also its a good excuse for a camper trailer. I love my luxes but for touring or long distance travel the Prado destroys it, and at the end of the day 12hrs behind the wheel with a trailer is a damn sight easier than 12hs with bleating kids in the back

Sorry Boof. WHat are you saying here? It is better to toss the bleating kids in the trailer so you and the missus have peace and quiet up front?

Oh, And I stopped breeding 17 odd years ago which is kinda cool given my son just finished school and started a full time job today (I hope)
