Hey
I get a lot of static from my center console storage box is there a quick and easy way to get rid of it.I got a 2005 hilux 8-)

hey on occasion , i have had some crazy static from that area of the car , it does not happen all the time but when it does, the bloody hair on the arms just wont stay down , it's a bit weird but also i dont know what causes it good luck

You blokes must be wearing nylon underpants 8-)

You can get antistatic cloth wipes or sprays for computer screens etc. I don't know if they would help or not?

Funny you should mention that becuase I get heaps of static electricity from my truck. When the missus gets into the car we touch hands first becuase we get a shock when we kiss hello. Not pleasant....the shock that is! ;0)

Getting out of the car too i get a big one from the door or the side steps. Surely its not just becuase its winter.

Do you have seat covers on your seats?? Pending on the material they are made of ...or the seats for that matter...and what your wearing, could be causing your shocking start to the morning.... I have sheepskin covers and don't have a problem... but If I get in my wifes car...damn!!!!

Stop rubbing yourselves against those seats....

Seriously, get an anti-static strap and mount it underneath from the rear diff so it touches the ground - worked for me.

no static for me... leather seats though..

have you tried some of that anti-static spray in a can ?

hey guys, has anyone solved this problem of the static on the centre console and also from the door and side steps? i too am getting this problem and am getting alittle sick of it...Glenn

I've got sheepskin covers & usually get zapped big time when I close the door. But if I'm standing on grass when closing the door, I don't get zapped. If I'm wearing leather work boots, I don't get zapped on either grass, concrete or tar, if I'm wearing cheap shoes with rubber soles, I get zapped on concrete or tar but not on grass! Go figure!!

It's a pain getting zapped by my truck, crikeys, I always hear the zap & sometimes I can actually see the spark!!! Er, maybe I'm "Electric" after all! 8-)

Maybe the strap from chassis to ground is the go! :-)

i just remembered i have got some anti static spray at work, i will give it a go next week and let everyone know what happens.

Interesting. I hardly get any static from my Hilux but I reckon the strap from the chassis is the solution.

I remember seeing the oil tankers having them at the rear.

I was getting Zapped all the time one night the spark lit up big time man it hurt.
Never get zapped any more fitted an electronic anti static device works a treat.

Almost forgot as a extra bonus the unit is an anti rust proofing solution as well ( Couplertec ).
