TRD bumper.

General discussion of basically anything Hilux related

TRD bumper.

Postby RJD1986 on Sun, 04 Jul 2010 8:22 +0000

Would I be able to bolt a TRD bumper on to a 2010 SR?
Or will I need to drill new holes, or are the molds completely different?
Plus, does anyone know someone selling a black TRD bumper?

bolt straight on, but you will need flares to suit it.

I saw one on eBay a little while ago.
Was a bit shocked to see it, but there it was.

yep the OEM foggies will fit and they can match the Toyota colours also. I dont mind the look of them at all. Cheaper than a genuine one.

Well not sure about them $350 ones! as we had a small accident in my TRD last year and the new bar from toyota in Japan (no stock in aust) was at a cost of $4,000 to the insurance company and the little grills that go in em well theres another $1500!!!
We (my wife) rear ended someone (could still drive it home and still use lights no damage to bonnet) the total cost to insurance company was $7,000 just for our truck. The proper bars are a bakalite type product i'd say the cheap one's will be just a spray type plastic which most times costs a fortune to paint up cause the paint surface is normally crap.

There is Stick in Australia of the TRD Bars, and yes the Bar itself is 2200 and the associated brackets and grills and stuff is 2000 alone, then you have to have it sprayed as they come in Primer (grey) only.

There very high priced, i have seen some on Flea Bay at times but more often than not its a Damaged Bar and you wont get the brackets and stuff for it.

You 100% need all of those brackets to fit a TRD Bar, they wont fit if you dont have them.

Cheers
