Just looking at the toyota web site the prado that looks to have the same moter as the hilux 3L but it produces 127kw 3400 rpm and 410nm 1600rpm our hilux 126kw 3600rpm and 343nm 1400rpm what can we do to get the same. my new hilux has not even turned up and I want more power

Ah, you'll find that you'd be happy with it. You can get a heap more power once you plug a DPChip or Dtronic chip into it if it's not enough for you... :)

When the new hilux first came out I read the engine specs and had a look at its build type and was convinced then that it was de-tuned, I am not surprised that the Prado is tuned to pump out more.

Have a look at the compeditors mid size 4x4 power outputs, Toyota had to get up there

Prado is constant 4x4 Hilux is not you need more power for the constant 4x4 - your hilux might even bet a new Prado in a drag race because of this.

When Toyota moves the Hilux to constant 4x4 (shhhh) bet you get the 410 :-)

I think the power increase is due to the weight of the Fat Cow Prado.:)

thanks to my dtronic, my rear tyres are dead at 20,000kms, will only get 30,000km from them, too easy to spin the wheels on corners ;)

I was looking at the chips for the prado it will increase the nm to 480 but the kw to 127 big increase in nm but little for the kw I wonder what thay are doing to get that sort of power increase in the prado

get a unichip and some dyno time for them to tune it. (same company that makes the Dtronics)
