16.6666 is not.great, but not unheard of. Are you carrying large loads or goin' up heaps of hills? Are you running other than standard size wheels & tyres? Lots of things can affect economy.
There was other threads on fuel economy, have you checked them for more detailed answers?

Well the diesel would be getting less than 1/2 the fuel consumption of a 4ltr v6 so although 16l per hundred is high it's not unexpected. 1gr Fe is known to use fuel. You sure you need 98? Yes it gives more power but costs much more than you get back... Try using E10.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

It's a personal decision, no doubt about it. I however have serious problems with E10. It burns a lot hotter, so you need to make sure your coolant system is in top nick. It WILL cook an air cooled engine. I personally would be advising the "cheaper" Non ethanol fuel ... 91 I think isn't it?

Most modern engines can use E10 safely and it's normally 95 octaine, close to 98 but more environmentally friendly and much cheaper ;)

Yeah, I'll take your word for it. I only buy the cheapest NO Ethanol fuel for the ride on & chainsaw. Got caught out not knowing and cooked the chainsaw about 10 years ago.

I get about 10.7ltrs/100kms so 16.6 definitely is not great.

When the last time the air filter was changed? And of course it depends how you drive it.

I probably should of said I have a factory bull bar , roof rack and ladders on the roof.
Cheers for your comments so its as good as it gets and theres nothing wrong with it. It got a new air cleaner about a month ago. How do you drive it to get 10.7 Philo ?

Roof racks and ladders etc add heaps to fuel consumption, even an empty roof rack adds a couple of litres per 100k

My cousin had a homemade deflector on the front of the chassis mount rack on his troopy & swore he saved a few miles to the gallon just from the difference in wind resistance back in the 80s. Every little bit helps.
