Ute buyer question

Postby Colliedog on Sun, 20 Feb 2022 12:37 +0000

I am in the market for a ute for my work.

Requirements are that it be a diesel, 4wd, ideally a space cab or single cab. Need tray space so no dual cabs. I realize that the secondhand ute market right now is ridiculous and everything is inflated.

I will be using it to tow horse floats around >2000kg and picking up bulk bags of 500kg on the tray
I would also like to be able to use it on the weekend to take camping and fishing on 4wd access areas
Was hoping to spend no more than 20k however having wasted a lot of time looking at utes in that price range with too many kms and work needed done on them i [b]am considering looking at spending 25k max.

This is a huge investment for me so i am really wanting to invest in something reliable for my work and myself that is going to hold up over time.

Some links of utes i am considering

Appreciate any insight/advice

Cheers

I'd also get a "trusted mate" mechanic to put your choice on a hoist and check it out. Maybe with the loads you're looking at (especially if you might have bigger loads) you might also wanna consider looking at a 70 series?

Get a cruiser or patrol thats too much for a lux you'll over load it often i think get something with more tow capacity for the horse float. personal thoughts.
