Roger that Steve.

Will post up some pictures once I am back in KK.

Currently out of town on work and the Hilux is at home.

It won't as you calibrate it to the actual fuel consumption over a few tank fulls.

Just an aside, my OBDpro dongle came with a few bits of free software that let you read trouble codes and reset the trouble light. On a diesel, all the free software showed a lot of codes for petrol engines that don't exist. My software Queries the supported PID's and only displays data that the manufacturer says is valid. The protocol after Jan 2008 should be CAN mandatory. My dec 2007 build uses JIW 850 or something. If I ran it up, I could actually tell you what it is.

Now if only I could force the scan tool into CAN mode and read PIDs from the TCU so I could see Transmaission fluid temps!

As far as i am aware, the Fuel temperature is not in the list of supported PID's. Mine is a generic unit, so your gadget must read some of the proprietory Toyota data which is why they have a different unit for different cars.

Thanks Rod.

Appreciate it.

Anyone running a Scangauge can confirm the fuel temperature reading?

I just had a thorough look at the Scangauge website and realized that the Scangauge cannot monitor fuel temperature.

In short, nah.
If the car's ECU doesn't monitor it then you won't get it on a scan gauge.
You'll need a pyrometer to keep an eye on your egt's :)

I've mounted mine at the front of the centre console using velcro to give the right angle to see from the drivers seat. Doesnt interfere with the switches and is clear to see.

Does anybody have problems with the boost reading on their scangauge? If I unplug mine (done it a few times to scan mates cars for codes), then when I plug it back in, it reads about -3 at idle. But after a while (sometimes after a few minutes, but last time was 3 days) it changes and reads -0.4ish.

Now I'm not mechanically minded but wouldn't this mean that the turbo is sucking out rather than pushing more in?

So my question is: is this normal, is my scangauge broken, or is my ute broken?
