Well f**k me theres the problem right there fellas, all this chip does increase the fuel rail pressure - which is the most unsafe and stupid way of pushing more fuel through the injectors and hello limp codes. No its not an ECU fault at all, look at the DP, taipan, power box, roo systems, chip it and any other chip that has the one connector etc they all do the same thing which is connect to the fuel rail pressure sensor and no surprise they all give trouble.. Would you really trust a china made $150 chip to reliably make 20-30% more power for the life of a $50,000 vehicle???
Only steinbauer, diesel smart or the old VMN chip connect to each injector directly and stay away from the fuel rail sensor entirely and the safest way to go if you want more power. The HKS chip plugs directly into the ECU and is probably the best way to go for reliability. Like Maxx said id rather re-gear and exhaust / snorkel and let the reliable factory ecu do its thing
Actually it says Important, after purchase we need the following information to put the appropriate software on the tuning chip and to send you the correct cable.wogboy4708 wrote:There's two chips, ones a German made chip for $165 called the "black one" and another one for $150, anyone tried the German one on an 07 hilux or newer ? Reviews on eBay are all good and in the pics it shows 6 pin plug.
how did it perform ? did u ask them about the limp mode before sending it back ?alexisdmtr wrote:Dont know about this one but i ordered and installed a German chip innthe same price range a month ago.It put the car into limp mode a couple of times.Sent it back and got my money back
