Do you have a build/ pics axehand? I'd be keen to have look! I bolted up some -44 34.5x13 bighorns and they just touched away bar on full lock and just touched my flogged out bump stop, with no flex on full lock, I reckon -22 would be awfully close to working with slight steering limit

No sway bar for me, no desire to run one either.
Body mount is chopped and firewall taken back a fair bit. Be interested to have a park of a hilux that's been limited, see if it's annoying or not.

Also will have to work out what I do for flares because I'm going to open up my quarter panels to get full use out of the 35s, don't see the point of running 35s if you're just going to go limiting everything when you'd almost get more benefit out of a full functioning 33. (Apart for diff clearance of course)

Yeah, as far as limiting goes my lux has a turning circle half the size of my dads landcruiser, so I figure I should be able to limit it a bit without getting into trouble. Should also help save my cvs a little bit too

Is far as flares I'm going a jungle flare style and mounting it through the fender so slit doesn't matter that I trim it back.

Yeah sometimes I'm still not sure whether or not to stick with a fat 33 or a 35. But I've cut my fenders and bought the prado limiters so im committed haha

35s are so nice to look at, after bolting a few up to my ute and seeing the stance it's hard to say no...

Believe it or not, had the same idea to run the jungle flares and trim up under them, should be able to get a shitload of room that way! Then i may just have the body mount relocated.

Ill slowly slowly work on all this and getting my gearing and lockers first then ill take it from there. Dont know how keen i am at going 35s before a regear

Just be really careful with negative offset wheels... While they look great and give a nice wide stance they place a lot of extra stress and increase leverage on the spindle/stub axle and you'll be a prime candidate to bend one, also they will wear out your wheel bearings a lot quicker as well.

Especially with wider tyres... from a P30 to N22 is a 52mm increase in track per side... (Plus you go from a 7.5" wide rim to 8" rim) which is aside from the increase in tyre width (255 to 285 at minimum) is a huge increase in the load on the spindle and wheel bearings and something to be considered.

Stick to 0 offset at maximum is your best bet, or N12 at the absolute extreme. As we have seen with the build on Max's truck a P10 is ideal for clearance and keeping the lift to a minimum.

Exactly what I'm thinking Matt, which is the reasoning behind me considering offloading these rims. Doubt all the extra load is worth it.

As you can see by the cv angle my MR Lift is sitting pretty low still as well.

Keeping the lift as low as possible is a benefit for cv strength and durability as is limiting the steering a little I have found.

You dont get the cv shaft at its extreme point anywhere near as often as you would with just a 3" lift, no diff drop or steering limiters.

my lift at the moment is sitting at just over 2", the cv shaft is very flat.

as Matty mentioned, the wider the offset the larger the scrub radius will be aswell as the load issues he touched upon.

the scrub radius is what will cause you to rub against the firewall. steering limiters help this. if I didnt need them to help make everything work I wouldnt have developed them.

A 35" tyre will also "occassionally" depending on overall diameter, touch on the top of the inner fender itself on full compression. Just enough to brush the paint in my case but it does happen.

one of the reasons why I purchased a 1" bodylift kit that I hope to fit this coming weekend.

As other have touched on....its a commitement to run 35's....yes, its only 1" difference in clearance offroad, but when aired down you get a longer tread making contact with the terrain aswell and that equals increased traction.

If your gonna drive it like a patrol expect to break things. Thats not what these vehicles are designed for.

Yeah I haven't actually purchased wheels yet, in coming weeks I'm keen to trial a -12 and a -6 mickey Thompson 16x8 with claws.

I should note that the wheel shown is a 15x10 and the tire is approx 34.6x13. Not at all what I'm after, fitted just so I could get a really rough idea of what a 35 would look like and clearance. No one I know seems to have zero offset 35's....

I was wondering how much I'll have to cut with 2" body lift max so I have cut it as yet, the other thing is do you reckon I'll get away with stock bump stop? Or would extension still be required?

And matty if ya reading this I'm keen for an update on them 4.11's... I'll send ya another email if ya like.

Yeah I'm tossing up lockers and regear or tires first. Either way the other will have to wait a few extra months... I'm a manual so I can just use 4th. Just them hill starts that'll cause me grief.
