Hadn't seen that one . Looks awesome though. They would hit the springs before hitting the tub on anything.

With the right hand drop transfer case what case would you use and where can you get the adaptors for it or would it be custom? And do the 2wd gear boxes allow for a transfer to be fitted?

Marlin has an adapter to put a late model engine in your early lux n bolt up to a gear drive ( the one you want ) transfer case .

With bud building the custom housings there so no real difference/advantage in running a righty, he has to weld all the mounts ect. on. Then I'm not sure how you will go with clearance on a righty with steering boxes, exhaust, sump and panhards, because our truck were never designed to have a solid axle under it.

There is enough custom work in doing a SAS already, and bud has it down to an art form. I wouldn't mess with what works ;) but he will set you up!

i was doing some googling on this cause now you have me thinking, since the 1kz and 1kd have the same block does that mean i could use a 1kz gearbox and transfer under it so i can get the transfer output on the right side for a 80 series diff? cause unlike you guys we dont have anyone as awesome as bud over here to do this shit, but the only concern i have is abs, what do you guys do bud?

1KZ also ran the R151F as the current D4D does.

i looked through buddys and parrs but couldnt find how he did the front diff abs with the custom diffs, il have a looky through yours now, problem i have is we can not remove abs or it wont pass cert and be road legal anymore, it would be nice if didnt have to worry about abs cause ild rip it out and put them late model 70series diffs in as i know where there is a wrecked one with free parts,

great truck btw the way toddie

Has anyone looked into the path of ICV (individually constructed vehicle)?
A mate went down that path to get his mazda built in NSW
Worth a look 8-)
