yeah carpet does suck. cheaper option is to get yourself a set of the rm williams floor mats. cover the whole front of the cab floor and have a good lip around it to keep dirts in them. my carpets are pristine. for the rear i just have el'cheap'o rubber floor mates covering it

If i did mine again it would be a 2wd workmate, high ks wouldnt matter just a good price. Ditch the motor for an LS, ditch the gearbox for a t400, patrol xfer, and buds hybrid gq/80 diff. All that for the same price or less than a brand new sr5.

Basically what I was thinking, LS motor would be unreal. I'm totally over my diesel even after throwing money at it. To be honest though the v6 I think would be good enough, if not, supercharged it.

Plenty of v6 auto dual cabs with reasonable kms on it for under $20k.

2.7 litres don't seem that much cheaper, I thought the difference in price would have been bigger.

I miss the carpet out of my first Hilux, not a fan of vinyl much.

That's what I had in mine and the one piece toyo rubber one in the rear but I would always end up with mud everywhere. And that's why the rubber is good because once the mud dries, get a brush, sweep it out then wipe it down with a cloth.. Presto!

Not a problem, thats for the 98-04 Lux though, hit them up and they will have the exact one yu are after, whether it be 05+ dualcab or xtracab

Think I've made my mind up. Aiming for a v6 auto (yes I've been turned) dual cab with under 100'000kms

Spoke to bud this afternoon, he needs to check to see if he can still do the SAS on a 2wd.. So just waiting on that before I get my heart set on a truck. So it's all resting on that. And obviously for my claim to go through. Because the dickheads burnt my truck it's going to take longer than it normally would.

But I guess if the right 2wd came along before the claim clears I'm sure I could scrape the funds together..

Make sure you talk to a few insurance mobs to make sure your covered as well. Both toddie and I are with jist car on agreed values, i had my truck evaluated so that i could get the value i was after and toddie used mine as well.

I haven't looked under a v6 auto 2by lately (ever ) but im wondering if there would be enough room to run a right hand drop transfer ? Heaps cheaper conversion if you can cause you only need an adapter for the transfer - not a lefty and you won't need a custom front housing either - 80 or gu would just work straight up . If it works I reckon there'll be a lot more 2wd gen5 s getting snapped up .

Made myself stop looking at cars until I'm a bit closer to the claim being finalized.

Love the extra cabs with tubs but reckon the dual cab is better with a tray and i plan on tray so..

And still havnt heard back if I can get the 2wd engineered so waiting on that too so I can even know what to look for..
