Not an sr5 but a 98 3ltr diesel.
My previous lux.
Xtra cab, i put a turbo kit and exhaust on which was money very well spent !!! i also put a turbo model radiator in as i was living out west at the time ad had regular 40 -45 degree days. A 4inch front diff drop setup from big balls offroad but they all sell them, the kit had new crossmembers etc tough dog adjustable shocks to match all round, 2 in lifted leaf in the rear medium rated do not go heavy duty !!! and a 2 inch lift block to make 4inches in the rear as well, this setup give the lift but kept the ride of a 2inch lift, and new u bolts to suit. Boost and egt guage (a must), arb bar work, compressor, lockers etc and 33in tyres. Piranah dual batt system with 2nd batt in tray and i made my own canopy setup and had the canvas made.

Oh mate! that thing looks fantastic !! atm im trying to source up a 2001 3ltr turbo motor,im just going to pull the old one out and drop that straight in im told its quite a simple conversian, i bought my car with a 2 inch lift tjm shocks and heavy duty rear leafs which gives it a very rough ride! dual battery system also tjm, custom sports bars on the back , spottys for when i feel like cooking things infront of me, and just shitty allterain rubber which i bought it with , i also put a set of pacemaker extracters on it to try and get the slug going but they cracked all over after a couple of months so i bought a set of redbacks for it which have been good so far but it still needs a turbo so that idea is scraped also, thanks for the reply ill try get some pictures up on here !

No worries mate, yeh do the engine swap if its cheap enough just do the radiator as well. I had to fabricate a custom bash plate for mine as the tuebo radiator hung down about 5inches lower and was below the bullbar, and i used t hit alot....ALOT of roos out there lol

yeah well the best price i have so far is about 3000 thats without it fitted , im not too bad around the engine bay so a friend of mine a i are going to put it in hes a mechanic so anything i dont know hopefully he will, would it be better to go for an overhead mount intercooler or front mount? you get a bit more out of a front mount but theres the chance of bashing it in?

Nice make sure you take lots of pics !!! I cant remember what the stock turbo motors have a front or a top mount or even if they have an intercooler at all. The kits you buy for the non turbo version dont usualy have an inter cooler... mine didnt, just ran about 8psi boost and the egts wer fine. A front mount would be easier to install, or even a water to air. Just put a boost and egt guage in as well as they are cheap insurance. Oh and get it tuned on a dydno, they will be able to adjust the boost and fuel to get the best from it but can keep an eye on your egt guage and keep it safe !!
