Its got Superior arms already. The castor is fine but the closer to flat the arms can be the better the ride.

Here are some pics of the stering box relocation with Bubs plates on the chassis rail . Its not obvious in these shots but I beat a section of the radiator suport panel forward to clear the front of the steering box.

Heres more of a front shot so you can see it all connected .

Bout time for an update...
Here is a shot of the guard tubbing/firewall adjustment...

Image

Which was needed to fit these...

Image

Approach angle near verticle should help.

38/13.5/15 Maxxis Creeply Crawlers on 15 x 10 -44 sunnies. . A bit more trimming needed but its not as bad as it looks - the guard is only hanging for the pic . Being a radius arm setup, the diff moves forward as it cycles up .

1200 to the top of the headlight ! so its still legal, right ?

Image

Thinking about lowering the ride height a bit, would like to lose about 50mm as its not super wide.

So 1kz turbo diesel with lpg injection is gunna struggle with 38s so an ungrade is needed.
no point pussying around so ...

First we pull the diesel and 5 speed and chain drive transfer out .

Image

That should be just enough room for the new setup.
Image

Prep the new a340 with dual transfer case adapter and twin geardrive case conversion ( then we found out on of the donor cases had a broken output so in goes the marlin 4.7/1 reduction gears in the second case and a twin stick conversion

Nice build cant wait to see it finished, I really like that shape in the single cab. I wouldn't be worried about the headlight height they will forget about that as soon as they spot the x-link :D

Just for fun, but if /when it gets an exo, etc it will be done to tuff truck specs. Kinda silly not to.

The Chev diesel is for another project.
Went shopping for a 1uz with a rear sump (to clear the diff housing ) but none were availale so picked up
this "front cut " privately...

Image

Rear cut was free ! ( if anyone is looking for a rolling shell for a drift /drag PM me - its going cheap )

So out comes engine/gearbox, loom and computer ...

Image

Insert 1uz here...
Image

Its in!!!

Image

The rocker cover clears the brake booster by 2mm - so there will be some clearancing to be done there. Radiator is going on the tray with thermos so no issues there . Power steering is a no brainer - pump is now above the box- just some custom hoses .Thinking a power steering cooler might be a good idea.
Might run the air con compressor as endless air ? Gunna take afair bit to pump up the 38s. Does anyone know if there are any special mods to the aircon compressor or do I just add an air filter to the intake and nitto fitting to the outlet ?

Next ... fab some engine mounts and gearbox crossmember - once its bolted in position everything elses position is determined, then its just a matter of connecting all the systems up.

Scotty.....this would be a good candidate for the upcoming Ultra4 AUS series about to start near you next year.

There will be a tuff truck/winch truck class that this would fit into nicely.

The truck is really just meant to be a weekend fun truck, but like I said, silly not to build it to fit in the rules of relavent comps. I'll have to check the rules and regs on Ultra 4.
Def need to lose some ride height for that style of racing .
Actually its just for me to practice on before I attempt stuff on my own trucks !

Drop the ride height, carve the guards wide open, or tube fender them
