coiled sased 99 hilux

Postby 3dhilux on Thu, 05 Jul 2012 12:23 +0000

i got a chance to put some 35s on the lux to see how there going to fit. there a 10in rim with a neg50 offset
Image
testing the flex and yes the rear wheel of the ground by 70mm if i could be stuffed i'd get 200mm shackles and move the mount and a set of drop arms for the front to stop the binding on the tie rod
Image
can you get 190mm flare extensions that with a 50mm spacer also

Use that offset and do a Tacoma front conversion, You can get Fibreglass 4" widened tacoma guards for the frobt it would look nuts!

nice to see the hilux with a set of big wheels... shame about the offset.

is your 80 diff from the early model with the small disc brakes? or are they 312mm discs?

its a late model diff with the bigger brakes and they work quite well i also useded 100 series brake pads. in case anyone needs to know on late model 80 diffs you need to cut a grove on the cvs to fit 30 spline hilux aisin hubs

don't know what everyone is going on about...the offset is great. the wider the better (more stable). I am not sure what offset mine are but they stick out nice and wide... not sure if it sticks out that wide thought :?: :D

I second ^^^ those comments....those hilux's need all the width they can get. You should see what 1st gen tacomas look like on 1 tonne axles....now thats wide!

Unfortunately we need to cover the tyres here to remain legal.....Look into maybe some jeep flares or something similar.....

else do what the winch challenge trucks do and get some garden edging and screw it into the fender lip, you;ll get the coverage and they are flexible so will bend somewhat out of the way....

cant always have function AND form, so you may have to give up on one.

is the front track width the same as rear?

the front 80 diff is 1605mm wide and the rear is 1435mm from memory with the offset rim the front comes in at 2050mm on the outside of the tyres. for reference with 35s its 1160mm to the top of the lights my mates leaf sas is 1180mm i dont think its as low as 54SED lux it looked quite low at the hilux meet
