Hey guys, been on here for a few weeks and thought I would post pics up of my build, met some of u guys out at glasshouse so you may recognize the car.
Bought this car down south from an old guy who owns a bait shop... needed abit of tlc, tray rusted out, body looking aged and also alot of km's on the clock. She ran great so I thought hmmm I could fix this up. Got it at a steal for $5500
gave the car a clean and a service.
started the tray
Done all the repairs to the car, fixed one very small ding and filled up the old mirror holes. I didnt have the new mirrors yet but found some temp ones in my parents shed
Starting to look like a neat car...
getting some colour
all back together

stripped the housing down to look like this:
cutting some of the crap I don't need:
all ready now to weld the new brackets and bracing on. Also cut the bottom driver perch to try and help it not get caught up on rocks, etc.
then purchased these so no turning back now..
Here is shit building up on my work desk, the big package is some hilux rear springs about to be sent to Cavey's Springworks at Harvey bay to be modified to suit my purpose

Here is the goodies, trail gear highsteer, 12" Bilsteins and extended brake lines
Just a random pic at pino halfway up one of the hills
finally got something to put my locker into... and to put in my front diff

my springs are also ready and are on the way back to me, should see them early next week.

and anotherone leaving glasshouse couple of weekends ago
and here are the shoes to go on 35" BFG Muds on 15X10" rims -44 offset
That is some beutiful fab work on the tray How'd you go with the big spray job outside? I always seem to get dust/debris sticking to my work when i spray outside Jake
Thanks guys, got to give a big hand to my brother Buddy @ Budscustoms, he is giving me alot of guidance in terms of where to go with the build.
In terms of paint it was fine, just have to wait for good weater (no wind and early morning) My dad iuse to be a spray painter so basictly I do all the prep work now and he puts the colour on
Will still be a month or so before its all together, going to start back on the diff this weekend and see how we go from there, would be nice to have it done before u guys plan to go camping at LCMP
Cavey's is just around the corner from me . with 12's on the front will you have to cut the guards? any plans for the rear??? there is a lux out the side of bubs's that im sure simon wouldn't miss if a few bits went walking
no cutting required for the inner guard they will just fit in and yea the bloke that owns caveys 6 years ago made my springs for my 1st gen and they worked really well, im basictly copying the front end specs I had on that one, it was able to max out the whole shock
As for rear atm I will just tamper with the ifs rears but in future I'm not sure a 4 link could be on the cards...
